Skopje is the capital of Macedonia and is 
situated in a valley through which the 
River Vardar flows. 
Skopje has around 500,000 inhabitants. 
Skopje's ancient name "Skupi". City was founded 
by the Dardanians (Illyrians), in the III century B.C.

Bojaxhiu was born august 26, 1910 
in Skopje. 
The Stone Bridge (Kameniot most / Ura e gurit) 
over the Vardar river
. The bridge was probably 
built during the Ottoman rule, in the second half 
of the XV century, under the patronage of 
Sultan Mehmed III the Conqueror. 
The old part of the town (Qarshija) is full of 
shops selling everything from the basics 
of life to gold jewelry. 
There are also some beautiful girls out there.
